Privacy Policy

Effective 19 September 2026. Applies to the Chapter And Verse app and this website.

What the app collects

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporter, no advertising, and no server operated by Tanooki Studios. The app does not know who you are.

Where your questions go

• On-Device. Your opinion, the passages found, and the answer never leave your phone. Apple's model runs locally.
• With your own API key. Your opinion and the candidate passages are sent directly from your phone to the provider you chose (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google), under your own account and subject to that provider's privacy policy. Tanooki Studios is not in the path and cannot see it.

Your API key

Stored in the iOS Keychain on your device only, marked as never synced to iCloud. It is sent only to the provider it belongs to. Removing it in Settings deletes it.

What is stored on the phone

Your chosen provider, model, and translation, in the app's own preferences. Nothing about your questions or answers is saved after you leave the screen.

This website

Static files served by Cloudflare. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts or fonts. Cloudflare's edge sees the requests, as any host would.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it and the change will be described here.
